I was up at 9:30 and at work by 11. I left my phone on top of the fridge charging, so I used my buddy’s phone to text Rebecca and ask her to bring it to me. I was in the bar, and the general manager was not there today, which mad for a relaxing shift. I was able to keep the shelves stocked with beer cutting down on the amount of time I had to spend at the end of the shift stocking.

I had a 10 minute break between shifts, in which I inhaled food and called my dad to wish him a happy Father’s Day. I was supposed to be training someone tonight, but she showed up late and they sent her home. I was in the very back of the restaurant but managed to be fairly busy.

It turned out to be a 12 1/2 hour day, and I was exhausted by the time I got home, but my brain was buzzing like a swarm of angry bees. I stayed up for a while watching one of the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and then I went to bed.

I woke up at 8:30 as Rebecca was leaving for work. My first order of business was trying to get ahold of someone from out apartment management team to fix the leaky pipes from upstairs. I was told that they couldn’t send someone over today because unless it was a life-or-death emergency, they couldn’t get into the apartment above us when they weren’t home. For some reason they are able to again access to apartments during the week, just not during weekends.

I rode my moped to Waikiki where I met up with my parents. We spent the day swimming and floating in the water. My dad and I swam out past the reef to where the surfers were lining up to catch any waves that happened to rise up. My dad and I were little more than floating speed bumps for almost an hour.

We swam back to shore, taking our time and watching the fish go about their business. At 2:45 I dusted the standoff my feet and headed to work. It was Sunday and there was very little traffic so I got there much earlier than I had anticipated. I stopped at a Japanese food court and ordered a ramen burger. The picture menu looked amazing so I thought id give it a try. It was a hamburger with ramen as buns. It tasted about as bad as it sounds.

I went in to work, changed, and then sat in the freezer for a few minutes to cool off. It was a dreadfully slow shift. I spent a considerable amount of time walking around in a big circle carrying two glasses of water so I would look busy. My parents came in again for dinner. I was able to sit down with them and talk for a good length of time because of how slow it was.

I left work around 10:30 and came home to do laundry and finally shower off all the salt water from the morning.
